The company dedicated a RO tank in the locality besides other initiatives for the welfare of the local community.

In line with its goal of enabling all round development of communities as part of the HCCB Model Village Programme, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) Pvt Ltd – one amongst India’s top FMCG companies, organised a day-long health check-up camp on October 17 at Bamanpara in Raninagar – a small town situated in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. Over 200 beneficiaries benefitted from this program.

HCCB joined hands with several eminent general physicians, gynaecologists, skin specialists, pediatricians and volunteers from Indian Red Cross Society and volunteers from Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi (RGVN) to organize this programme. The objective behind this initiative was to inculcate the habit of getting regular health check-ups and screenings done to negate potential health issues before they become a threat to the individual and the community at large. The idea was to eradicate factors responsible for the late stage detection of various diseases, spread awareness among men and women regarding symptoms and provide a basic health check-up, free of cost to the patients. Post consultations, medicines and sanitary napkins were also distributed free of cost at the camp.

Commenting on the occasion, K. G. Mandal, Factory Head, HCCB Raninagar, said, “A generation ago, people used to visit the doctor only when they were sick. Today, preventive health care is becoming common as people become more educated and empowered about their own health. We are happy to be able to encourage this practice and facilitate such awareness programmes in the community."

On behalf of HCCB, Dinesh Jadhav, Executive Director of Supply Chain and Shukla Wassan, Executive Director - Legal & Corporate Affairs, South Asia said, that the HCCB Model Village Programme is a key part of their commitment to the integrated development of communities. “We are extremely thankful for the cooperation and assistance extended by the local community, and the local authorities.”
