- Award ceremony held online as part of the India Sustainability Leadership Summit
Jalpaiguri, September 11, 2020– Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s top 5 FMCG companies, has been conferred with the ‘Leaders Award’ by Frost & Sullivan and TERI for its sustainability practices for 2020. Presented for the Medium Business category under FMCG Sector of Sustainability 4.0 Awards, the recognition acknowledges HCCB’s efforts to adopt green manufacturing practices in a consistent and structured fashion.
HCCB’s factory in Jalpaiguri secured the maximum out of the total score of 1200 covering more than 125 touch-points in its category to win the award. The assessment was based on four major parameters; Purpose, Partnership, Planet and People and 13 sub-parameters of the Sustainability Excellence Model. Among other stages, the assessment also included on-site visit of the factory by an independent panel of judges.
Reflecting on the significance of the award, Mr. Alok Sharma, Executive Director, Supply-Chain, HCCB said, “At HCCB, sustainability is an integral part of our business strategies. We remain relentless in our endeavour to create economic value without compromising with environmental and societal interests. It’s so heartening to see our efforts being recognised on such a prestigious platform. The award for our Jalpaiguri factory will further motivate us to replicate the success across other locations."
Due to the constraints of the current pandemic the 11th edition of the awards this year was held virtually with all the participants and delegates gathering online in a celebration of sustainability practices.

The HCCB logo is an affirmation of our core values. Much like the Indian ethos, we too, seek humility, progress, care, compassion and inclusivity. We too are curious, colourful and diverse.
Our logo has three components:
1) HCCB wordmark
The colourful wordmark captures the vibrant spirit and diversity of India. Between the four colours in the wordmark, they combine the primary or secondary colours of the top 8 selling brands of HCCB. The two Cs in the logo come together to form the infinity symbol; a symbol of the infinite opportunities that India as a country has to offer and HCCB as a company has to leverage. The imperfect letters in the logo is simply an assertion of our core value of not striving for perfection but progress.
2) The company name
The company name is written in the Noto Sans font, which is designed to be harmonious across multiple languages.
3) The brand proposition
The company’s brand proposition ‘Inspired by India’ summarises our purpose and our soul. We are Indian and India brings the best out of us.
