Bangalore, July 17, 2019:HCCB (Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages) Pvt Ltd, one of India’s largest FMCG companies, collaborated with LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, to organize a career coaching session for 35 women from the community in Bidadi, Ramnagar. These women are undergoing training at Career Development Centre (CDC) run by HCCB in Bidadi. The coaching and mentoring session was hosted at the LinkedIn’s corporate office in Bangalore. The program was also streamed LIVE on HCCB’s social media handles.
Senior executives of HCCB and LinkedIn India shared their personal experiences as part of the coaching session on various facets of job interview, how to build self-confidence and ways to pave an enriching career path.
At the end of the session, each participant was assigned a mentor who helped them create profiles on LinkedIn for easy accessibility by potential employers. In keeping with the requirements of modern day job searches, HCCB and LinkedIn associates also helped put together resumes to highlight the most searched skills of each individual.
HCCB has been in the forefront of upskilling thousands of young job seekers in India through various Career Development Centres (CDCs) that have been launched by the company. These centres are oriented towards imparting skills in Services, Retail, Manufacturing and basic IT sectors to enable young women to become future ready. The aim of these CDCs is to bring underprivileged candidates at par with those from reputed institutes in big cities and bridge the gap of learning and skill.
Reflecting on the program, Indrajeet Sengupta, Executive Director and Chief Human Resources Officer, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, said, “We are very excited to partner with LinkedIn India in our continuing effort to enable these women develop requisite skill-sets, gain confidence and find their own path. We made a good beginning today and I am sure the partnership with LinkedIn India would help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of these women from our community.”
HCCB has piloted similar skill and career development programs in the past for rural youths in areas that it operates. The company believes in actively engaging communities to economically empower them by preparing them to become a readily employable workforce for different sectors.

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd (HCCB), has been in the forefront of upskilling thousands of young job seekers. To facilitate this initiative, HCCB in partnership with NIIT Foundation launched Career Development Centres (CDCs) in Andhra Pradesh, Khurda in Odisha, Dasna in Uttar Pradesh, Pirangut in Maharashtra and Bidadi in Karnataka to enable the youth to become future ready. The aim is to bring underprivileged candidates at par with those from reputed institutes in big cities and bridge the gap of learning and skill. The CDCs are oriented towards imparting skills in Services, Retail, Manufacturing and basic IT sectors.
The CDCs have collectively trained 2,205 candidates in 2017 and 916 candidates in the first half of 2018. Overall, these centres have trained around 11,365 candidates since its inception. 65% of all the trained candidates have successfully been placed in many reputed companies at their respective locations.
